LASIKPlus: The Worst of The Worse

LasikPlus’s bait and switch tactics have resulted in a $1.25 million fine from the Federal Trade Commission.  LASIKPlus tricked potential customers into thinking they could get LASIK eye surgery for as little as $300. When in fact it routinely charged patients multiples of that amount.

In a recent Wall Street Journal article exposing LASIKPlus’ trickster tactics, the Journal noted that barely a year ago it had reported on LASIKPlus’s own doctors (and not patients’ lawyers) complaining about LASIKPlus putting “company profits over patient care,” while performing “dozens of surgeries a day.” While operating on patients who “might not be medically suitable.”  SeeOperator of LASIKPlus Vision-Correction Clinics Lured Customers with Deceptive Advertising, FTC Alleged,” Wall Street Journal, January 20, 2023.
