COVID-19 And Worker’s Compensation

We hope that you and your loved ones are well during these difficult times. The COVID-19 virus is our modern-day plague, which has caused a global pandemic with colossal health and economic consequences.

However, for persons who have gotten sick on the job, in connection with their employment, they may be entitled to worker’s compensation benefits. If you or a loved one is a heroic health care provider, first responder or someone who provides other essential services during this crisis, whether in transportation, food services, supermarkets, pharmacies or otherwise, you may be entitled to compensation for lost wages and medical expenses if you are determined to be COVID positive. In New York State, to make a timely claim for worker’s compensation benefits, you are required to notify your employer of your job-related injury within 30 days. You then have two years to file the claim.

While we wish you and your loved ones continued good health during these extraordinarily difficult times, please feel free to contact the Law Office of Todd J Krouner, P.C. if you think you may have a COVID-related worker’s compensation claim.
